Sitting of Consultative Working Group Being Engaged with Problems of Population Growth and Reproductive Health

On January 26, in the RA National Assembly the sitting of the Consultative Working Group being engaged with the problems of population growth and reproductive health was held.

Let us note that at the beginning the RA NA President Ara Babloyan led this. Now, by the proposal of the Head of the parliament the RA NA deputy Margarit Yesayan was handed over the functions of the Head of the Working Group.

According to the statute of the Working Group, 2 deputies from the RA NA RPA Faction, one deputy from Tsarukyan, Way Out and ARF Factions are included there. The Group functioning in the RA NA is part of the international NGO with the same name which includes almost all parliaments of the world.

At the first meeting of the Group the problems of pregnancy, as well as the artificial interruptions of the pregnancy conditioned by gender were jointly discussed with the representatives of the RA Ministry of Health and the United Nations Population Fund/UNFPA. By transition to the system of parliamentary government the RA NA have been reserved oversight wide functions, Margarit Yesayan documented noting that the members of the Group would be in the relevant medical institutions and focus on the situation.
